MATH INFO

Welcome to math on the 7 White Team. We will be posting homework regularly. contact us anytime you have questions or concerns at sandra.prather@appo.k12.de.us or anne.rees@appo.k12.de.us. We expect that all students are using a section of their 3 ring binder for math. They should have their learning map in the front followed by all notes and handouts. In addition, they should have a composition notebook that they can leave in the classroom. This is their math toolkit. It will include vocabulary as well as critical formulas and procedures we discuss in class. This will be added to all year long. This should be a toolkit that they can use in the future as well.

Throughout the second marking period we will be starting notebook checks. All handouts that are posted online should be in the students 3 - ring math binder. Please help your child organize regularly to stay prepared for class. This unit will require more out of class work so look for more homework than before. Please remember that we enter homework when it is collected as a "0" point assignment. The score given will be "RCV if it is 100% correct, "RR" if it was attempted but not complete, or left blank if it is not done. The last assignment of the marking period will be their homework grade. When homework is assigned we will either collect it and give feedback, discuss it in class or have the students discuss it as a group. If you have any questions, please contact us. In addition to assigned homework or on says when there is no homework, students can find practice on STUDY ISLAND or they can do independent practice using websites such as aplusmath.com. When students are fluent in their basic skills, math will be much easier.
